Snowed in 2009
The winds are blasting away at my car outside. The poor Subaru is covered in snow...100+ km/hour winds whip around my area and huge snow drifts are everywhere. Last night as I watched Kathy Lee Griffin and Anderson Cooper ring in the New Year on CNN, half with grim fascination and amusement of the drunks on TV. (Shown below: Times Square in NYC, NY).
And you know, it wasn't that bad. I relaxed at home with some Rickar's Red and decided to chill out by checking out the revelry online and on TV. I could have done without watching Bill Clinton dancing with his wife, but hey - you gotta make sacrifices. And who could forget poor Erica Hill - the CNN reporter that had the pleasure of having some freak visit her with his tongue wagging all over the place.
But back to the snow. We were fortunate in Dartmouth not to (yet) lose power, so it's been a pretty comfy blizzard so far. No doubt there are people somewhere stranded on the roads or highways. Looking back a year ago, I had two car accidents within a month. That sent my car insurance into the stratosphere. New Years resolutions? None so far. I'm actually trying to keep my expectations low in order to avoid disappoinment.
Heading out later today after the winds die down. It's just too nasty at the moment to even think about going out. (Plus, I am lazy).
