Death on the Deerfoot

A horrible crash Sunday morning leaves one person dead - Southbound deerfoot trail was closed after a vehicle crashed into a pole at 5:39 AM this morning near Anderson Road on deerfoot trail. The SUV burst into flames immediately after hitting the light standard, which was completely engulfed in flames.

The driver was found dead inside the SUV after the fire was extinguished.
