Weed - It's becoming legal in many areas

If you asked me 10 years ago about Marijuana, I would have scoffed and said it was a nasty, evil drug. I was so ignorant about it I never really gave it second thought. I come from a conservative household. We never smoked pot. Sure, I could smell it now and then on the weekends - but my folks were pretty discreet about smoking a blunt. There were no bongs around. But you know what? After having many family members affected by alcohol, and trying weed myself, I now see the difference.

Alcohol kills 2.5 million people a year. Source: http://www.voanews.com/content/who-alcohol-abuse-kills-25-million-people-each-year-115951079/171375.html

And now with many states legalizing weed, it's going to be a matter of time before Canada goes full legit. Already, 3 Canadian parties support either de-criminalizing it or full legalization. The conservative government of Canada is so far out of touch with reality, Stephen Harper will never legalize it. He is destroying Canada with his "Omnibus" laws. Have more than 6 plants growing at home? Better be prepared to spend at least 6 MONTHS in prison.

It's a fucking joke. With Colorado, Washington state, and Alaska declaring weed legal, even more states are pushing the matter forward. The huge amount of money that governments can get from legalizing it is astonishing.

Budtenders are the new catchphrase term. Medical Marijuana Clinics are the wave of the future. In British Columbia (Vancouver), you can visit a doctor for a few minutes via SKYPE or in person, and walk out across the street with your MM card & purchase weed from a fucking vending machine!

The machine pictured above sold over a MILLION dollars of Cannabis in 3 months. 3 MONTHS! 1 MACHINE! The owner of the machine told the Fifth Estate "I load this machine 5-6 times a day, sometimes more."

Can you imagine if there were hundreds of these machines around the country. You're looking at several hundred million dollars of sales every few months. Quite the business opportunity!

Now weed isn't for everyone. But for those who are able to use it responsibly, why not? Why should the government DECIDE you can't smoke or ingest a perfectly harmless plant? Who are they to decide WHAT you can do? Don't they work for you?

The ass-backwards reality of Canadian government in 2015 will hopefully be changed with new blood. We need to wake up and legalize Cannabis. The amount of good this plant will do out weighs the bad.

With legalization, the should be laws that protect sales to minors and the same kind of framework that already exists in place for alcohol. If you think having Marijuana legal will make it easier for children to get, you gotta be fucking kidding me.

I don't condone the licensing and sale of all drugs. But I think with Marijuana, the benefits and rights of responsible people to consume it should be legal.
