Speed Limits are too low
Having driven from Calgary to Winnipeg and back, I can say speed limits are too low. Right now when you drive across Canada the average limit is 110 km/hr. I found driving 120 or 130 more acceptable because I kept getting past at 110-115.
When driving conditions are safe, there is no need to have such low limits. I encountered a few people who didn't know they should move to RIGHT on a divided highway. People dangerously passed them on the right. I held, put the horn down and they eventually moved over.
My trip each way averaged 12.5 hours each way. I didn't stop for anything except gas and bathroom breaks. I gained an hour arriving in Winnipeg but lost an hour arriving in Calgary due to the time change.
More on my trip later.
