Control your life. Be you. Don't conform.
If I had a dollar for everyone that told me I was crazy to take up skateboarding at age 47 I'd have a couple of hundred dollars by now. Yes, sure I have a few scrapes here. But they are healing up nicely. I've noticed my cardio is getting a little better each day. My legs are absolutely a place of burning hell, but I can take it.
I enjoy the challenge of going down a mediocre hill and not killing myself. If you're ok with people staring while you swoop by on a longboard, more power to you. "You should get an e-bike" or "$1000 skateboard? Are you crazy?".
I didn't tell them it actually costs more like $2K with the money conversion and options. But I digress. Being able to blast down the streets or sidewalks this summer on a boosted board will be fucking awesome. I wish I had this ability back when I lived in Nova Scotia. That place is hilly as fuck. The boosted can climb 25% grades easily.
Of course, if you have a serious disease with little cardio, maybe you shouldn't be doing extreme physical sports.
I find with this sport it takes your mind off the day to day worry and negative thoughts. I focus and turn that negative energy into something positive. Get out there.
