Skateboarding

Don't underestimate the speed of a longboard. Day 2, rolling down a steep hill, I almost carve into a pedestrian at speed. I jump off the board and stop, scaring the poor dude. I apologize and move on.

But great news! I've managed to figure out how to stop by jumping off the board OR by using my foot. I can't seem to figure out how to ride goofy style yet, but I'm working on it. The trails downtown are excellent for this board. I can run over rocks, small cracks, etc without leaving the board.

The trick is to jump up slightly and let the board take the bump, and as long as you do this you'll always stay on the board (Unless it's a massive crack).

Boosted is shipping Dual+'s in April, so it's possible I might get the board early. Riding a longboard downtown is interesting.

First, everyone stares at you. And those that do are broken down into  3 types of people:

1. Angry scowl

2. A nice smile

3. A shocked look

It's not every day you see a middle-aged dude riding a longboard downtown at speed not giving a fuck. Pic is an example, not me.

SHRED!!
