SR-71 Update

All right let's make this story interesting. I woke up to someone touching my shoulder as he walked by. I open my eyes, and see none other than Bob fucking Gilliland, the first man to ever fly an SR-71 Blackbird. "Son, I got this" and he waves goodbye, disappearing into the night. The clanking of the boots is heard and he is escorted via shuttle to the landing strip.

A lengthy and boring pre-check is done on the entire plane.  The pilot calls for a quick round of cocktails and a small joint. Pretty soon, he's very stoned and loud music can be heard from the cockpit. I think it was Smoke on the water. Suddenly, a loud voice erupts over the music. It was flight control. "All right you pothead motherfucker, wake up and get this goddamn plane into the sky NOW!". Bob snaps out of it, stops drumming on the cockpit, and begins calling out for the taxi runway. He slowly mouths "F-YOU" to the cockpit camera.

I didn't believe my plane was ready yet. I watched in awe, the plane thundering off into the desert night sky, fiery contrails lighting up the darkness. Hopefully one day I'll be ready to fly that plane myself. But for now, I'm fine with watching others fly it for me.
