USA is #1 - For Global COVID-19 Infections

The world is decaying at an alarming rate. The pace of infections globally is rising in North America. Even in my city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada, there are hot spots of community spread. They just don't  know who has it. We are on the edge of a societal collapse if we cannot contain this virus. I did a rough calculation, 1.2 million people alive in the Calgary area, if 3.5% required ICU ventilation, we'd need 42,000 of them. Impossible.

You can appear to be healthy and still spread this virus. I no longer go outside without a mask. If I am taking a walk, I generally won't use one. But if I'm going to the store, I use the mask. It's an N99 Vog mask, washable and re-usable. I bought it 2 years ago when the fire smoke got crazy.

I've spent too much time watching CNN during my work breaks. I'm ashamed to admit I've developed a bit of a crush for CNN reporter Kaitlan Collins.Her southern accent is hard to miss on live TV.

I'll give it a week, then I'll move on towards Tulsi Gabbard. Is she still running for President?

 

I bought a convection oven for myself the other week. I liked it so much I decided to buy my mom one, and surprise her. She is going to love it.

It's basically a table-top oven with a fan that distributes the heat evenly. It makes fantastic pizza, fries, roasts, roast potatoes, roast vegetables, chicken, ribs, etc.. Because it's double-insulated, the outside glass doesn't get hot.

Hopefully I won't break mine.
