It's always her smile

I asked her to pose. She always made me smile
On July 13, 2018 I broke my leg electric skateboarding on a downtown Calgary bike path. My skateboard, which I had rode faithfully and without any incident + all protective gear for 2 years!

And then the board stopped, stuck on a rock or something, and I fell forward and bounced on the right side of my body, face first. Theresa took care of me when I got out of the hospital. She changed my wounds, she gave me baths, she even cooked for me - with her own serious lung condition!

I am forever grateful she helped me. During her decline last year, she said "I can go into a care home if you want" and I was shocked she would even think that.

In her mind, she was a burden. I said to her "If the situation was reversed, would you want to take care of me?" and she said "Of course I would" without any hesitation. So I looked her in the eyes and said said "I am the same. So shut up. You belong here at home with me and kitty for however long you wish, even to die". She gave me a hug and told me she loved me.

I am grateful I was able to talk to a therapist after reaching 8 months, I was living in ground hog day.

I'll go visit family and fix stuff at my mom's place soon. Kitty will be coming along with me. I didn't have the heart to put him in a cat hotel. He comes with me. He has attachment issues.

Ever since Theresa past away he has become extremely close to me. I am sure this is her way of giving me some extra help.

I've also amassed a gigantic collection of colored bandanas lately. I have every color that 7-11 sells except the black ones.
