Organized Chaos

We had the annual building power shutdown today. At 5:30 AM, I was shutting down systems in a specific order. Computer systems have become more complex to manage. I had to return at 4 for the power to come back online. They didn't restore it until 5PM.

20 minutes of work plus 40 minutes of verifying systems and powering up computers. One system booted up with a red LED light. Uh oh.

As a wise man once said, The Dude does not abide with this. A red light means a fault somewhere.

After searching, I found a loose power connector on the 2nd power supply. A quick push and it was fixed.

I remember when operating systems ran off a single floppy disk. My first computer was  Commodore 64 and then an Amiga 500. Those relics back in the 1980's were magic. Now entire systems can be built in seconds virtually.

I wish I could build my social life as easily!
