$180 later, I picked up a Mad Hatter Texas cowboy hat at Lammles last week. Last year I picked up a  white cowboy hat - straw, for about $60.

While it did fit well, there wasn't much comfort in the brim of the hat. It lacked the silk liner, and honestly, it looked really cheap.

You can spend a LOT of money on hats. I searched and found a George Strait hat for $960!

But wait.

If you go to resistol's website, and sort by high to low prices (descending), you'll find a white beaver skin hat for $4100.00!

Incredible.

That price is far too steep.

You might as well go to a custom hat maker for that price.

I'll visit Stampede next week, shoot some video, taste some of the midway food. It should be interesting. I hadn't been to one in a few years. It starts this Friday with parade day. I suggest buying your midway tickets via Safeway if you can to save money. 

It can get quite expensive. If you love crowds and noise, this is the place for you.

I love the country festival. It brings out the best, and unfortunately, the worst in some people.

Let's hope for a safe Stampede this year.
