iPhone 17 Pro Max Blue
I made the switch from an iPhone 15 Pro Max to an iPhone 17 Pro Max the other day. I wasn't really considering the pro max phone, but the $100 price difference was not a huge problem for me.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max started to have battery discharge issues after year 2, when the phone dipped down to 58% after 1/2 a day.
And although I could have waited for the iPhone 18, I saw that the memory prices had jumped once more, and could see the iphone increasing in price by as much as $300 in September when the Pro and Pro Max debut.
This phone is large, the image quality excellent, and the cost is quite high. I looked through the Samsung and Google phones while waiting for my phone transfer to complete, and I wasn't too impressed.
The fold phones are interesting - but unnecessary for me. I'd doubt I would ever own a folding iphone - too heavy, too complicated, and too expensive.
I couldn't seriously consider an iphone 17e or base iphone, and I don't mean they are inferior phones. When you get older you appreciate higher quality items than when you were younger.
And the next phone? Probably an iPhone 19, because near this time in 2 years, the iPhone 20 will be on the radar. God knows how much money they will cost then.
The cost of electronic components have skyrocketed over the past few years, mostly due to the explosive A.I. datacenter boom.
But of course, after the boom comes the bust.
And it hasn't happened yet by any stretch of the imagination.
And so while yes, it's a nice phone - I don't like to talk about the features or brag about it. It's just a phone.
