Major Upgrade: Macbook Pro M5 14 inch.

I've owned several Apple products over the years, including a Macbook Air M3 for almost 2 years. To be honest, I rarely used the device, but my old desktop computer - custom built, is showing signs of aging. I don't know how long it will last, but I do know I refuse to spend $1200 on another graphics card, $1,000 for memory, $1,000 for cpu, and another $500 for a motherboard. Forget it.

I traded in my Air M3, and Apple gave me $485 credit to the purchase. These things aren't cheap - they run about $2,700 Canadian before taxes (!).  If you wanted 32 GB of memory? Add $700.00 - forget it - too expensive!

First, the screen is absolutely incredible. It's a 14-inch M5 with 16GB memory and a 1TB SSD. I didn't want the nano screen cover, I can buy 3rd party screen filters for cheaper than $200. I love that  it has a built-in HDMI port and media card reader. So handy.

For fun, I priced out an M5 Macbook with a 4TB SSD and it jacked the price, including the CPU, to about $10,000.00 !

It's hefty. The keyboard is pretty and glows. The response is incredibly quick. It doesn't use passive heat sink cooling like my previous macbook - this one has an actual cpu / gpu fan.

It was a madhouse at the Chinook apple store, but the staff treated me well, and after I figured out my apple ID password, I was on my way.

I hope to put this new laptop to more use. I'm thinking of doing some videos with my iphone pro max15. I held back on upgrading, and probably will for a quite a while now. I mean, it's paid off - so why not keep it for a bit?

I'll post more tidbits about it now and then. Honestly I was never an Apple person, but this thing is just a thing of beauty.

Hopefully, I'll get a lucky strike on Tinder soon. I'll be heading to the Calgary Stampede next week, and I'm super excited about that.

Peace!
