Let's Make $1,900 dollars PER SECOND

ExxonMobil's $14.8 billion third-quarter profit reports shout at how much profit the Oil and Gas companies are making over the ordinary consumer. An orgy of money, according to Marketwatch:

"Exxon is again spending more on buying back its own stock (up to $35 billion this year) than on finding and drilling more oil ($25 billion). Its stock buyback for the third quarter was $8 billion. The company spends less than one-hundredth of a penny of every dollar of profit on renewable energy."

MarketWatch goes further to say:

""ExxonMobil is wallowing in cash," said Dugan. "It is so rich that it can live in the corporate lap of luxury no matter what its profits are for the foreseeable future. It is holding nearly $37 billion dollars in cash on hand, and about $125 billion in company-owned stock, giving new meaning to 'piggy bank.' It is Exxon doing only what is right for Exxon."

No fucking Shit! Seriously - what the fuck? ExxonMobil is spending more money buying back it's stock than anything else. And what does that mean? That means shareholders get huge dividends. Joe the consumer gets fucked by higher prices at the pump. Ever notice that gas prices shoot up very QUICKLY yet take so long to drop? It's corporate greed in perfection! This is not capitalism, this is pure unadulterated greed. Oil companies have been charged with price fixing in the past, and I have no doubts that many companies in Canada and the US are guilty of this unethical and greedy crime.

Imagine for a moment that all the oil reserves are gone. What would we do for energy? How would we fuel our trucks and ships and automobiles? There's not going to be an alien race that is going to save us from our own folly; indeed, if there was a race, it's at least 6 light years away in the Andromeda Galexy. And right now folks, it's not possible for us to fly at the speed of light, even in space.

I am truly disgusted by all this greed.
