The Cruel Reality Known as Life

I don't know if anyone who reads this rambling blog has recently watched the Barbra Walters interview with Patrick Swayze. Swayze was diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer about a year ago after he discovered he couldn't drink anything at a December 2007 New Years party.

The man is so gaunt and haggard. His sheer will to stay alive is apparent, having completed 12 gruelling episodes of the new show "The Beast".The poor guy is a shell of who he used to be. At 56 years old he is starting to look like a man in his 70's. (Check google images for some really bad shots). He checked into a hospital today because he was found to have pneumonia.

Cancer is serious. I was diagnosed with cancer 1996 when I noticed a lump on a testicle. Further tests showed it was cancerous. I had it removed, went through radiation therapy, and have been cancer free since.

I don't have much to say, other than pray for the poor man.
