Another Awesome Movie: The Host

Imagine, if you will, being chased suddenly by a creature that is so enormous, so disgusting, and ferocious that you simply RUN for your life without due regard for anything. The characters, set perfectly against a South Korean set, fit perfectly together in this spine-tingling, funny, and outrageous thriller. Gwoemul, or "The Monster", is one of the best movies I have seen in a long, long time. It all starts when an

American military pathologist commanding a reluctant Korean assistant and orders him to dump 100 bottles of formaldehyde down the drain, which eventually leads to the Han river. A few years later, all hell breaks loose. A weird amphibian creature springs forth from the river and begins snacking on villagers - and with an enormous appetite. The cinematography is incredible - sounds, the shots, well-placed and appropriate for the chilling theme. The scene where the creature dumps the bones of it's victims is very raw. A bit of humor in that scene too, as a beer can erupts as it hits the ground. The movie is just brilliant - I suggest watching it if you haven't already.
