So long Subaru
The old 2007 Impreza is going back in less than two months. It's been legendary in performance and reliability. I've only had to spend money on tires, front brake shoes, and a resistor pack for my HVAC. I've got to repair some minor body damage before it goes to the dealer.... if I don't fix it they'll charge me a ton of money. Unfortunately my windshield cracked two weeks ago and now it's spreading. I don't have the money to pay for this damage, so I'll wait for the bill which will inevitably come in the mail months after the car's been sold at auction.
I'm going to try and get a car for about $5,000.00 so I can pay it off within 11 months. The two models I've focused on are the Honda Civic and Toyota Corolla. My car insurance has finally dropped to a reasonable level, and thank God for that. The next car will be an automatic and also have A/C (although it would be nice to have it working). I have to get 4 quotes on autobody work, which I will do next week -- hopefully I can find a half-decent body shop that won't charge an arm and a leg for work.
I built up a new PC, finally got rid of my piece of crap Pentium 4. I now have an Amd Athlon 2 Quad core with a Nvidia GTX-260 video card. The 750W power supply is super-solid and Windows 7 ultimate rocks. I had to battle somewhat to get my media shares to work with the Western Digital TV Live box that I have.... but after some registry hacks & sharing modifications....it works great. I tried watching The Matrix on my new pc in 1080p and it looks awesome on the 24inch widescreen.
Going to the US Virgin Islands in April -- can't wait.
