A Dangerous World

Growing up, I was told stories about monsters and dark things which would hurt you. Evil. Of course, these were all stories and nothing was true. Except, they are.

With Sunday's WaffleHouse attack and todays unspeakable evil of someone mowing down innocent pedestrians with a rental truck in Toronto - they prove the monsters are real. And even more scary, those monsters are cleverly hidden people who appear normal to everyone of us except the perpetrator.

You can't live on a swivel head forever. It would be impossible to hold eternal vigilence without going completely batshit mental. I know from experience, it would take a massive amount of pharmacopia to calm my ever rising nerves. And we're talking monumental amounts of Valium.

And while people continue the same old "thoughts and prayers" bullshit, this will never change. Mass murder is news and this is what drives today's media. Sensational coverage isn't to blame for these events. Our mass survelliance society isn't able to predict yet when someone is going to break a law or commit a grevious crime.

Unless you're stupid enough to broadcast it on Twitter or Facebook, nobody is going to give you a second notice. And that's what is especially scary. To know, walking out the door, you may never see your loved ones again. Chilling. But yet, we can't give in to fear and aggression.

If we were in Donald Trump's ideal America, the NRA would be handing out fully-kitted AR15's to every John, Mary, and little Johnny. For protection, you know ?

I'd prefer an M16 with compensator, front grip, suppresor, and top grip. I think I'm playing too much PUBG.

Please stay safe.
