Time for a cheap.....bicycle ?
Above: A boosted board with 0 miles on it.
Below: My boosted board with about 1300 miles on it.
That is, before half the motor drive decided to grenade itself. I'm seriously considering a cheap bike if my skateboard does another major outage this summer. I will be changing out the bearings once I get the board back from service. I think it arrived on Friday and I hope they get this thing working quickly. I miss riding this thing.
For anyone seriously considering buying one of these boards, I hope you live in North America. because if you live somewhere like Europe or Russia, good luck sending the board back and forth for service in a timely manner. Customs would be a nightmare.
Take away the electricity and this board has been super reliable. It has never broken down on me once single time. But when you factor in electronics and motors that consume a serious amount of current (20-40 amperes per motor), it's bound to fail.
I may be an old bastard, but I'm not yet ready to hang up the gear. I wouldn't buy a new board either. The used ones are pretty decent and boosted will help you if your board does require major service. Their support department is #1 in my eyes.
My motto: Do what you enjoy, as long as it doesn't hurt other people or yourself. Be careful and boost wisely.
