Boosted Ride Report
Ride 1: Go get breakfast from A&W
A&W offers a Great Canadian breakfast which is completely unhealthy and 100% addictive:
2 eggs
2 bacon strips
2 sausage
2 toast
2 tomato slices
It's pretty damn good for the money. So I took the boosted board out and somehow with the grace of God I made it back in one piece. I noticed immediately I was rusty and my balance was not great. The roads are still covered in debris (rocks) from winter, so I had to carefully watch and control the speed. I did not trust the board to go full tilt. I also wore every piece of gear I had: full face helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards.
If you're single and looking for a date? Avoid A&W on a Saturday morning. Nothing but older folks with walkers and canes. It was almost like being in an old folks home.Of course you stick out like a sore thumb in the restaurant. To hell with them. My knee was a bit sensitive and I had to watch my stance. I rode the board conventional: Right foot to the back, left forward. I'm going to try and learn goofy style in order to take the stress off my left knee. Also, I may or may have not told a cyclist to Fuck Off when he compalined I was on the bike path. (Truthfully, I was on his side of the road, but, I was in a terrible mood. I'm awful).
Ride 2: Circle route and back to Dairy Queen for a Sundae.
This was half street and sidewalk. I noticed the board's motors were insanely loud. I didn't even need to ring my bell and people would get out of my way. I did actually ride the board on the grass and it managed to get me through it, but it was very unsteady and bumpy.
I noticed with the Extended battery there was far more speed and more duration than the old battery. My whole circle only consumed 40% of my total battery reservoir! This thing can really move quickly. I'm going to see if I can boost to work one day next week.
