The Monstrous Policy of Border Security According to Donald Trump

I get it. The hordes of people flooding over America's borders are large and need to be curtained. But using the idea of seperating children from their family is a monstrous plan that hurts the most innocent: Children.

Having watched that insufferable Jeff Sessions proudly claim (with the most creepy grin I have ever seen) that this is from the Bible! Imagine that! And so he begins quoting scripture, happy as he can be, because "If God said it must be, then who am I to say anything? I work for God".

The keebler elf of evil. He is such a redneck racist asshole, I could swear he doubles for Hanks' Dad in King of The Hill. How he ever ended up in his current role is clearly not due to his moral competence. Truth to that is the man he works with, Donald Trump. He's using innocent children as pawns against a problem that will have a zero sum effect: A million people will cross the border illegally, but just as many will be caught and thrown back to their home countries.

Even Jeh Charles Johnson - who served as Secretary of Homeland security from 2013 to 2017 thinks it is a huge mistake. Even he admits that this crackdown will only temporarily stem the refugees - eventually they'll just keep coming - like they did to him. Read the article if you don't believe me.  Mr. Johnson writes: "The current “zero tolerance” deterrent policy, resulting in the separation of 2,000 innocent migrant children from their parents, is immoral and un-American. Beyond that, the policy will in the long run prove to be ineffective."

And more and more families are crossing each day, dragging the detained numbers up even higher. Trumps' policy is almost as bad as Italy's recent policy of turning every asylum seeker back on boats - no matter where they came from. I bet you Trump is wishing the United States was more like North Korea. Nobody would stop him if he mounted anti-aircraft guns to the border walls, if he could. After all, North Korea's dictator Kim took an anti-aircraft gun to people who wouldn't STAND for him when he came into the room.

These are poor people coming from "Shit hole countries" - according to Trump. I am thankful to being a Canadian and am proud that back when Trudeau was elected, we had over 50,000 refugees come over. Some people in conservative Alberta may hate Trudeau, but I love that guy. His heart is true and he can kick almost anyone's ass in a boxing ring. I also loved the cocky attitude his dad had - although I'm too young to remember that.

As Mr. Johnson wrote in his Washington Post article:

"The answer to the underlying problem is twofold. First, send more aid to Central America. In 2016, Congress started down this road by appropriating $750 million in assistance for Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador. In subsequent years that level of support has fallen off. Congress must do more. Second, encourage the neighboring countries in the region — Mexico, Panama, Costa Rica and Belize — to develop their own systems, as alternatives to the United States, for accepting Central American refugees and asylum seekers. This is not politics; it is basic common sense."

Common sense and decency that this administration is seriously lacking.
