More Valuable than Gold

A good friend is something that is rare. My dad once said to me when he was alive "Kid, if you're in your 30's or 40's and have one good friend, count yourself lucky". He was so right.

My good friend Paul dropped everything and flew from Montreal to Calgary to help me and my wife when I had my skateboard accident. Paul helped me with bringing food and my wife to the hospital, cleaning my apartment, getting food, etc.

Back in 2009 when I lived in Halifax, Paul had problems with his heart and we took him to the QE2 hospital to get himself looked at. Turns out he needed a triple bypass and was very close to having a fatal heart attack.

Paul is a graduate chef from the Culiniary Arts of America, and he cooked some impressive meals while he stayed with us. My cat slowly adjusted to Paul when he was here. Last night my cat tried to cuddle up with Paul while he was asleep - albeit cute, but he's allergic so we had to move him to another room.

When he was struggling to use his old laptop which was cracked and half destroyed, I decided to surprise him with a brand new one. He deserved it.

Where I work in the morning the customer gave me a $500 gift card for Skip the dishes. I wash shocked. Skip the dishes is a food delivery service and it turned out to be very helpful.

I am grateful for the support I have received. I put my boosted board on sale and hope to get rid of it in the next week.
