Construction Part 2

Finally, with help from my friend Dave and my brother later in the day, we removed the rotten wood and window, re-framed, and mounted it. It took 6 hours and multiple trips to Home Depot. I think I spent $600 in tools, wood, and parts.

I cannot post pictures yet, but the frame was so badly rotted it was almost ready to fall out of the wall. I was supposed to repair this back in 2018, but I broke my leg.

We encountered a problem with mounting the support posts, they were cut very thin in the trailer (2.5 inches vs 4 inch studs). We had to manually rip the boards using creative wood clamps and careful use of a table saw. We replaced the stud walls and backing plywood with weather resistant boards.

The entire section needs to have new insulation, vapor barrier, and slow-expanding foam near the window. I'll take care of that tomorrow.

I fucking hate doing construction work, but it needed to be done. My old handy work from 2017 is still holding up, I'll just re-caulk the windows and add more foam insulation.

My mom appreciates the work. I want to ensure her home is safe and secure.

I know Theresa would be proud of me.
