It's hot as Satan's balls here

Ever since I rolled into town on Monday I have been aggressively tail gated by numerous vehicles. So I met up with 2 friends and social distanced & wore masks. I asked them why this was happening. Part of me wondered if it was because I had Alberta license plate on my car.

AB is a hot spot, people look at visitors negatively during a global pandemic. I would like to make clear that I am not going into the bars, socializing, or attending indoor or outdoor events.

My goal is to help my mom, clean up, and fix a few things around her home. And so I was told likely the reason was either the AB plate or the fact that people speed down roads, there is no photo radar here. Only red light cameras. In Calgary they have speed and red light cameras on major intersections. That's why I never speed in the city.

Ah.

Just the other day a man was killed in a drive-thru Tim Hortons road rage incident. One guy stabbed the other to death. The heat is driving people crazy.

+33 and very high humidity make it pretty hard to work outside. I left my AC cooled car this morning and my glasses fogged up from the humidity. The air was sticky and hot.

So far I've bought my mom a new vacuum, vertical fan for her room, and a new stove hood range. I'll be working with my brother on replacing rotted stairs for her, and working with a friend Sunday to replace a wall and repair a window.

The idea of keeping outsiders out or forcing a mandatory 14 day quarantine is not practical. You cannot live in a virtual bubble forever. I live responsibly, wash my hands many, many times with alcohol santizer

Hell, I even purchased a brass door grabber for my mom and myself. I would rather use that than touch an actual door handle.

One of my friends uses masks religiously like I do. Another doesn't wear it often. I worry about that. He has co-morbidity issues (Diabetes). I wear my bandanas with double-layer paper towels. It's not meant to protect 100% from COVID, but its the equal protection you can get with a non-medical mask.

My poor kitty has been kept in the bedroom for safety. My mom has a dog and I cannot risk having them interact.

It's going to be hot as hell until I leave on Friday. I talk about Theresa often. I miss her a lot.
