My Beloved Theresa

11 months to the day yesterday that she passed away. And between then and now, it has been a most difficult journey. The sudden and jarring transition from caregiver to widower happened quickly. And without mercy.

In 2017, she had a Google tablet that I had gotten her for Christmas. The cat loved to be close to her, and would often spoon on the couch with her. When I got home from work, he would latch on to me for the next 4-6 hours, giving her a break for a little while. Theresa poured a lot of  love into him after her mother died in 2012.

I cannot visit Nova Scotia yet because there is a 14-day quarantine rule in effect. I don't have time for that. My friend Paul in Montreal has left to Halifax for a little while. He'll be staying in his parents cabin for the 14-day quarantine.

It seems every day something awful is going on in the world. While I was in Winnipeg, some random dude got stabbed in a Tim Hortons parking lot over road rage. Today at a Red Deer medical center, a doctor gets hacked at with a machete and hammer a patient brings in. The doctor later dies.

 More widows.
