Water damage has rotted and buckled the supports for this window. You could move it with your hand it was so unsteady.

The rotten wood was removed and a new water-resistant plywood board was placed over the missing wood.  Rebuilding the stud walls and adding 2 layers of vapor barrier were done to ensure it was repaired right.

Before adding the finishing layer of plastic, I took a picture to show the work involved.
Everything was replaced, including the thin veneer wall. I didn't care about the gaps in the panels, I was more concerned about the window and whether it would hold up. It was in very tightly and didn't move. The repairs above were about $250 in wood, insulation, etc.

And below, using $300 in pressure treated wood, my brother and I built her new steps and a platform to hang clothes. No longer was this a death trap. The old wood was so rotten, one step and you would fall through it.

All the work was done in +33 C heat, high humidity, and very difficult. Digging the holes for the bricks almost killed me.
