Get Checked for Colon Cancer

 Once you turn 50, or experience bleeding from the rectum, you must get a colon exam. Although slow growing, it is quite deadly. I know someone who is dying from this awful disease. I had my second Colonoscopy done yesterday. To say it was unpleasant would be an understatement. 

This time, I had a female Doctor with a more gentle touch. Instead of using CO2 gas, she used mostly warm water. I had this awful flashback of the movie ALIEN when the guy is on the table and the thing explodes from his chest? I could feel that fucking thing moving around, exactly like the movie !!

In all 4 polyps were found and removed. The procedure is painless and thankfully not as long as the first one. 

But the real fun is preparing for this event. The day before, you stop eating at 4PM which is only toast. At 8 PM, you begin the 2L binge of Colyte laxative drink. It tastes like a fruit punch but has a weird aftertaste. I had to rinse my mouth after each drink. Basically, drink 8 glasses of the shit, wait, and then begin setting on the toilet for 2-3 hours.

Repeat again the next day. Do not eat, then go to the hospital for your exam. The best part is showing up, waiting, and not having your name called. Somehow they missed my name, and mine was delayed. 

Also, people usually get sedated when you get this done. I didn't because I had to drive, there was no one who could pick me up. Oh, those memories.
