11 Years Ago Today
We moved into a 3-bedroom apartment in Halifax when George past away. Well, it was the summer of 2011 and going into the fall, when this picture was taken. I remember it well. Marion, on the left, is Theresa's mom. Theresa is my late wife who past away on September 9, 2019.
It's sad how fast time goes by. Marion's mental state wasn't good either. She suffered from Lewy Body Dementia, and it kept her up all hours of the day and night. I remember calling an ambulance in September of 2011 because she just wouldn't stop talking. She was convinced a man was sleeping in her bed. It was just crazy talk.
They would stabilize Marion in the hospital, and put her on powerful anti-psychotic medications. They worked for a few months. Then in March 2012, she past away from a sudden heart attack. I remember holding her when she died, I asked "What happened Marion?" and she said "Oh my legs gave out" and that was it. I felt urine leave her body as I gently placed her down on the carpet.
Theresa performed C.P.R. on her for almost 15 minutes before the ambulance arrived. They gave up after about 5 minutes, then left. We stayed with the body of Marion until the coroner arrived to certify the death was non-suspicious.
We had a quiet funeral at a local Dartmouth funeral chapel, in a blue casket with a nice set of flowers above it. She would have liked that. Marion was very feisty, like Theresa. She always told you her mind, and I respected her for that. We got along very well, and I became a second son to her in time.
Her sister, Bernice, would die 24 hours later in a hospital in Prince Edward Island. It was a sad time for us. Suddenly, there was no one around anymore. Theresa and I were alone together.
I do miss and love them both. That other one 💕though, I'm kind here.
Chris
