Remembering Old Jobs

That allure - oh I know this old job was good. But it wasn't. Your memory tricks you. Thinking back to my Quest Software Enterprise support days, I led a team of 7. We had no less than 6 products and 40-60 ticket case load for each person. It was that crazy. There was no performance bonuses, cash options, or annual payments. They were cheap.

Juggling customer complaints and filling up my outlook calendar with webex appointments were a common sight for me for years. And I mean years.

After a while, you got desensitized to it. Was this a normal way to run a business? No way. My phone never stopped ringing. Customers called me on my cell phone. It wasn't a great work environment.

And before that, it wasn't any better. No training. Just walk in and work.

Kind of like my last job.

I continue to search for opportunities.

With dignity.

Chris
