Moving

It was 2012 October and we had just crossed into Alberta from Saskatchewan. Theresa and I were at a gas station diner near Medicine Hat. "Its like a heavy weight has been lifted off of me" she said. "I feel much better now" I was relieved. Did I make the right choice in moving to Alberta from Nova Scotia? Certainly, the work was here.

To be honest, when Marion past away, I asked Theresa if we could move back to Calgary. She said yes if I could get a job. It took almost 6 months to do that. The hellfire both she and I went through in that time was unbelievable.

We lived in Nova Scotia for almost 12 years. And in that time, we had acclimatized to the East Coast life. But now, it was over.

This 2012 Calgary was strange. The city had exploded in population. I felt like an outsider again.

Back to work. Strange people. Odd situations. Ominous feelings.

And now, as I look back almost 10 years to the date, what if?

I do not know.

Chris
