Christmas Mini-Update
I decided to quit smoking cannabis a few months ago. I took the route of cold turkey: Throw everything out, and don't buy anymore. And so, I threw out a vaporizer, several lighters, an astonishing amount of pre-packed weed joints (they were bought a few days before I decided to stop). In truth, I never had much on hand. I threw it all out.
You would think it is difficult but I was never a heavy smoker. I'm talking maybe 1 joint a night, if that, but not every day. And now, I have clearer lungs, no residual smell on clothes, and feel a lot better.
Sure I was tempted every now and then. I never started to smoke until I was maybe 40 years old. Yes, I waited that long before starting.
Trust me, it's not really worth the time unless you love being in a hazy existence. I never ever used at work or when on call.
I remember the first time I smoked a joint. Theresa was alive and well, and so was her mother Marion. Damn, I miss them both. Anyway, she had been given some potent weed from her ex-husband Jim, who grew this stuff in his basement. She didn't warn me it was strong because Theresa didn't know either. It was a super powerful Kush strain. And my God, I was in for something.
She took a quick rip of the joint, and passed it to me. I smoked most of the joint, and ended up so high I felt fuzzy. It was like a force field was around me. I sat down on the couch, because when I got up, I felt dizzy and couldn't feel my feet. I was too goddamn high.
The year was 2011. Or maybe 2012. Likely in those two years because it was in our old Parkland drive 3-bedroom mansion apartment. I call it that because it was the largest, most luxurious apartment I had ever lived in. I'm talking about having an actual dishwasher, washer, and dryer, inside your actual apartment.
I'm not denigrating anyone who smokes weed. And who knows? I might take a rip one day, but I'm certainly not going to look to smoke anytime soon. I feel better, my breathing has improved. And after quitting vaping of cannabis, I found that my lungs were no longer having that 'clogged' feeling. I found that when I took a deep breath, it had a 1/2 second delay for my lungs to fully open. Quite distressing. That symptom disappeared after 1 month of quitting vaping.
Merry F'ing Christmas people.
