Q200 Dashcam
My VIOFO dashcam started to have issues about 2 years ago. It would boot up, make a strange noise, then shutdown. After listening to this useless device chirp for about 2 years, I decided to purchase a new dashcam, this time, paying 2x as much as I did before. The previous camera did catch someone backing into me, and for that, I'm grateful.
The Thinkware Q200
At $250 Canadian, this isn't cheap - the Thinkware Q200 does the job, came with a 64 GB memory card, and allow you to record clips using your phone. The dashcam is fine, it tells you when you're approaching speed cameras or other notable zones.
It uses bluetooth to connect to your phone, which can be slow. The installation took less than 30 minutes, including routing the power/usb cable to the back camera. It certainly looks like business - the GPS even has a sticker for your windshield, to keep it in place.
Hopefully it'll last longer than the VIOFO did. Time will tell. You need a dashcam to drive in today's society.
There are far too many assholes out there willing to hit and run.
