Headlights - Again?
It was about 1-2 years ago I replaced my left headlight. Well, on Friday I found out that it was completely dead, including the daytime running light.
The price of headlights have jumped significantly. Silverstars are higher-end ones that are supposed to be brighter, and at $79 for two, I certainly hope they are.
All you need is a key to pull the old halogen lamp from the assembly. It's held by a plastic clip.
Just be careful removing the lamp that was working - it will be especially hot if you try to change your headlights after a quick drive.
I find the LED headlights in most new vehicles to be too bright. It blinds other drivers and if you try to swap halogens out without using a proper headlight assembly, you'll just end up annoying other drivers.
The LED headlights can be expensive to replace. Those integrated headlights? They cost about $1,800 to replace.
This is why I hope to never own a car that has them. They are too expensive to replace. I'm sure the manufacturers designed them only to last as long as the car warranty. Of what? Maybe 1-2 years? Good luck after that.
Rant over.
