Armageddon on the roads as storm hits the Maritimes...
In-Car shot from my 2007 Subaru Impreza
[Dartmouth, Nova Scotia -- AUTOREVU by Stoneman]
The roads are indeed treacherous as I drove the all wheel drive beast to the store and back, stopping along the way to of course, perform judicious donuts and sideways drifting. Along the way I encountered the asshole 4x4 pickup trucks, who seemed puzzled as to how a little car like mine could keep UP to them on the roads. I'll be uploading some of my videos tomorrow or the next day -- gotta figure out how the fuck to edit them first. I almost lost my camera during a drift around a cul-de-sac... fuck sakes.Basically, when you hit the brakes.... you slide. So the key when driving in slippery conditions is to GO SLOW. Don't follow those idiots on the road going the speed limit or speeding. Think you can stop? Think again. Peace.
On other things - I made some bread the other day. (I have a hobby for baking - can you believe it?)
First loaf: No-knead bread. I gave it a nick-name. And no, I'm not gay.
Second loaf, same recipe, only round:
The loaf above actually came out really nice and crispy. See my recipe below.
Stoneman's No-KNEAD Bread
2 Cups water
4 Cups flour
1/4 teaspoon of yeast
1 tablespoon of sugar
1+1/2 teaspoon of salt
Combine all ingredients in a large steel bowl. Mix until all is combined and cover with saran wrap.
LEAVE the bowl covered and on top of the stove (wherever) for 24 hours. IMPORTANT you must leave it for 24 hours.
After 24 hours, take dough out and pull it gently out of the bowl. It should be very spongy and soft to the touch. Turn the dough several times and use 1/2 cup of flour to dust & ensure your hands don't get sticky. Shape into a round dough ball and place into a flat pan with oil on it (small amount).
Crack an egg and beat it. Brush the egg yolk on the bread top. You can cut slats into the top of the loaf if you want. Shake salt & pepper on it too if you want. Dab a little olive oil on the top of the loaf and set in the oven for 30 minutes with ONLY the oven light on. (important).
After 30 minutes, move the loaf to the top of the stove. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F and wait 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, move the loaf to the oven and set clock timer to 40 minutes.
After each 15 minutes, rotate the bread to ensure it's cooking evenly.
At 30 minute mark, insert a knife. If it comes out clean, it's done. If unsure, wait the full 40 minutes.
ENJOY BITCHES!
