Winnipeg

I really love my home town, Winnipeg, Manitoba. I was born and raised there and lived there for about 27 years. I know every street of south Winnipeg and revel in the driving experiences. I drove my brother's 1996 Dodge Van when I was there. It was a beater but it got me where I needed to go. I remember my first full day there, I visited a buddy of mine and some asshole actually cut me off and drove across my front side and I had the right of way. It was unbelievable really. I was too shocked to even honk the horn.

Winnipeg has many aggressive drivers. I loved it. People don't use signals to change lanes. They just move to where they want to go. Slicing - or the art of changing lanes without using signals - akin to "slalom" movements - used by everyone. Old drivers and seniors in cars that are 30+ years old are common.

It wasn't all fun and games. One of my good friends fathers past away during my visit. I had the opportunity to visit him in the hospital about 1 day before he died. A humbling experience. I feel terrible that I am not  able to make the funeral.

I'll post some pictures of the van during the week (time-permitting). It's hard to know what life will throw at you at any given day.
