We Crutchless Bitch!

Finally! 3.5 months after I shattered my tib/fib due to falling off my boosted board on July 11. My God, time flies doesn't it? Doctor said I had 110 degrees of movement, more than they expected. He was surprised and said to immediately ditch the crutch. Walking without a crutch was weird and scary at first. WIll it hurt? Is my bones still fucked? And most importantly, will it hold?  Turns out it did, and my joints are still a little out of whack, the tendons get really tight near the end of the day.

I also decided to try my hand at learning the electric guitar. I went down to a local music shop and rented a cheap amp, and a fender stratocaster professional. It wasn't my choice, I simply asked for a decent yet not expensive guitar to use. I feel he made the right choice, because the sound coming out of this guitar is absolutely incredible.

So many guitars and styles, it's easy to get lost in the maze. I raised my hand and asked for help.
So many straps. I just picked an 8$ nylon one.
These aren't cheap, I think they retail at over $1,000 depending on the configuration. This one has 5 pickups (!) and a 5-way switch. Dual tone controls and 1 volume knob. It has a built-in AC hum filter to prevent noise from shitty wiring.

It is also incredibly hard to play when you've never played a guitar before. Ever try to make an "A"? How do you get those fingers so fucking close? D's are easy, and E's are easiest.

Tuning was a challenge. Being a complete noob, I used the SNARK tuner and found a few articles online to reference what each guitar string should be. 1 hour later I finished it.
I have a Fender Mustang 1 V2 amplifier, it's incredible for what it costs ($165?). Reverb, modes, effects, delays...it sounds incredible.

I'm using Justin Guitar to help learn it. If you haven't checked his site out, you really should - he's a brilliant teacher and it's all FREE!
