100 pushups a day challenge
Day 24 no weed, and I needed a challenge. About a week ago I started doing a minimum of 100 pushups a day. I typically do 20 pushups in a set, rest for a minute or two, then repeat. I have been doing this for over a week now and I noticed a few things about myself.
Initially, this is hard. Doing proper 20 pushups was difficult and I could only get to 12-15. Now I can easily do 20-30 pushups in a single set. I banged out 100 pushups easily before noon. After a few days I increased the amount of reps and now I'm doing 200 pushups a day.
The body adjusts to the extra work and the muscles will cease growing. I'm going to try this out until December 15th, which will be 1 month. I stopped using Cannabis on October 31st, but I'll do some slow and tiny doses on December 1st.
The first few days of the pushups my ass hurt. Turns out you use your core and lower glutes to keep your back straight when doing pushups. 5 days in I cracked 100 in 20 minutes. I knew needed to push myself harder. This body isn't getting any younger. I was reading up on the legendary exercise pioneer Jack Lalanne. This guy lived until his late 90's and died of respiratory failure due to pneumonia.
What struck me was he worked out the day before he died. And this guy never needed a walker, never needed help going to the bathroom. He never ended up laying on his back in a hospital.
You only have one body in this life, and it's your responsibility to ensure it's as healthy as possible. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up doing 300 pushups a day by the end of the challenge. I may not quit doing them, they are easy, efficient, and fun.
