5 Weeks of Exercising
Recently about 5 weeks ago I decided to join the gym at my work (in the building). At $35 per month, it's a bargain. They have elliptical, stair climbing, bikes, etc. All free and fixed weights, including a couple of squat racks and 5 benches.
Adapting to exercising 5 days a week is not easy. At first the body was complaining but surprisingly I never felt any soreness. It was only until the Saturday that I did - having 2 days off for exercise gave my body enough time to adapt properly to it.
Slowly, I am getting more defined in the arms, legs, chest, and back. I have lost about 10 pounds and I feel very strong. My right leg is getting stronger and I can now almost launch from it up the stairs. I can easily out walk almost anyone on the street.
I still wear those heavy walking safety steel-toe shoes. They add about 2 pounds of weight to my feet each, easily. When I wear normal shoes that don't weigh as much, I feel like I could easily sprint walk. However, my left knee joints are almost completely fucked. The damage was done due to my skateboarding accident last June, I had to put all of my body weight on my left leg.
People at the gym generally keep to themselves. I don't know why people have to surf on their phone when working out. The elliptical machines have a TV so you can technically watch TV while exercising.
But slowly, you begin to get more confident and you feel better about your appearance. You slowly begin to define a stronger image and powerful presence. But my goal is not to become Lou Ferigno or some shit.
When I see overweight people I don't judge them. I don't know the problems they have or understand their situation. Life is complicated. It is not as simple like binary logic 0 and 1.
I am not, however, going to pursue running. That shit can be left for the people who have knees of steel.
