SR-71
The fastest plane ever built, even to this date. One of mankind's greatest achievements in aviation history. In my mind's eye, this plane represented an imaginary plane which represented my life. In the past month and a half, my old SR-71 Blackbird crash-landed into the Nevada Desert at Mach III. After 21+ years of service, the plane had lost aviation controls and both engines failed. This happened at exactly the moment Theresa died.
Fortunately, I was able to deploy the rocket ejector seats 1,000 feet above ground. I came out bruised and battered. The pain is mental and not physical. More like torture. I had a moment today when I had to get Chinese food, at my wife's favorite location. I had avoided it for over a month because I knew there would be questions. Why hadn't I visited them lately? Are you ok? I told them. It was very difficult. I showed them pictures and then cried.
They were very kind to me. I tipped them $5. Back to the story.
Rebuilding the plane was impossible, it had quickly corroded into dust within hours. A new replacement plane was found a few weeks later - purple with a dark glow around the edges. It seemed even more exotic than the last one. Suddenly, both engines fired up and begin whining very loudly, menacingly. A hum of raw power could be heard loudly from both engines. It is difficult to hear, they are drowning out my thoughts.
They were indeed massive in size. I could feel the floor shake from the sheer power of them. And suddenly they slow down and eventually stop moving.A quiet 'beep' can be heard every other minute, likely from the cockpit.
The mechanic said it wasn't ready for flight yet.
But, since it's an imaginary plane, we'll have these issues fixed up fairly quickly. The only problem is new issues appear randomly out of nowhere. You can never predict when grief will touch you. The old addage of "Man-up" really doesn't apply unless you've actually experienced such a deep loss.
Fuck all those people who say that.
I asked the mechanic if I could get OnStar installed in my new SR-71, and he told me to "Fuck off".
