Vacuum Chamber

It wasn't cheap, but I wanted to try out something I saw on the internet a few years ago. I think it was The King of Random, and he put 16 marshmallows into a vacuum chamber and filmed what happened. As the air gets sucked out of the chamber, the tiny pockets of air in the marshmallows cause it to grow very large.  Water will boil at room temperature once the air pressure drops below a certain level. Fire and smoke behave strangely in a vacuum chamber. I'll be exploring that too.

I'm going to try and create a Youtube channel with this kind of content. I'll be putting various non-alive objects into the chamber. I'll use my gopro and film it in slow motion. I may need to buy a new chamber top, as the one it comes with doesn't appear to be very see through.

I think it will be a fun hobby, and allow me to grow in some areas I have always wanted to try, like content production. Anyway, I'll post the link here when it's up and ready to go.

The unit should arrive sometime this week, and I'll need some time to figure out how to use it safely.

Experiment Ideas:

* Candy bars

* Twinkies

* Marshmallows (various types and sizes)

* Gummy bears, worms, jelly beans

* Weiners / hot dogs

* Lit match

* Ice cubes

* 7-11 Slurpee (small)

* Dry ice

* Liquid nitrogen

I think my first video series will be common candy bars in Canada, and how each are affected by a vacuum. I'm not sure I'll be able to pull more than -25 considering I'm at almost 1300m altitude.
