2024

What a year it was. I purchased a new Macbook Air M3 13 inch (16GB) laptop from Staples. They had it discounted by $200, so I figured - why not? My last laptop - a Thinkpad T480, lasted about 6 months before the power connector broke inside the motherboard. I had tried to repair it, but quickly realized it was a losing game, and ended up recycling it. Never again.

I originally ordered the white one, but they shipped me a rose-gold titanium colored one. It's fairly quick and the display is really sharp and bright.

I'm new to Mac OSX, so using the menus has been a challenge - coming from a windows environment. I'll be using it to write my news articles, I want to use my workstation for mainly games and videos.

I don't feel guilty about buying it. It's really the only thing I bought for myself since the laptop -- and I deserve it. I work hard for my money, and you know what - I'll be fine.

As we come into the end of 2024, I am always reminded by the past. The people who I knew and truly cared about are dead. Those that were my family were only in it for the money. It took me 50 years to figure that one out.

And now, with 2025 approaching, I have goals and some interesting things to look forward to. I'm hopeful it will be a better year. I don't spend much time thinking about the past - except when I write about it.
