Time is precious

I went back a few years, reading this blog entry for December 2014, then 2016. My, those times were not great. Theresa's health was slowly declining. I felt tremendously guilty for having good health. I do remember our conversations.

Could you put a price on that alone?

Time is precious.

Of course you couldn't.

I stopped reading after the 3rd entry for December. It was called "Christmas sucks."

I still agree.

I remember the 1990's and 2000's being busy and chaotic years. As I approach 55 - I still can't believe it 55 years old.

I certainly don't feel it.

I was at Sephora yesterday, and I had a $100 gift card, so I purchased some expensive makeup -- not necessarily to wear in public, but for my news site - in case I want to do video, I should have some kind of foundation and eyeshadow.

The store was full of people half or 1/4 of my age. One of the rare men standing in line with $86 worth of eyeshadow. That same day, I went out and had my Gshock's watch battery replaced. I determined it was safer and easier to pay someone to do it.

Last month I had an oil pressure sensor go on my Toyota. That cost $450 to fix - thankfully, it's been fine since.

The people that I used to know and love are all dead. Once you approach your 50's, you really find out who your friends are - if at all.

As my late father once said, once you reach your 40's, you're lucky if you have even 1 friend around.

At least in that moment, he was correct.

I soldier onwards.
