Cancelled Amazon Prime

I had high hopes when I re-joined Amazon in early March. I've done business with them before, but for some reason, my first order would always arrive when I was at work. Changing the delivery date was not possible. Since it was amazon, you couldn't collect your item from Canada post or UPS. I ended up cancelling the order.

I decided to use the local amazon pick up spots. But on my 3rd order (and all 3 orders) ended up having "delivery issues". I think the destination address was no longer an amazon pick up zone. But why was the business still listed? Great question.

After many weeks of spending money and going nowhere, I applied for refunds. I never got the products. Amazon did eventually refund all but 1 item. I'm not going to be angry over $10.

In the end, I learned a valuable lesson: Sometimes ecommerce has risks, and not everything works out in the end. I cancelled my prime trial and moved on.

Having items delivered to my work place would not have been good. The problem is the building has door bells which are rarely known by the public. To make matters worse, we're near an AA meeting door, and we frequently get people asking where the alcoholics anonymous meeting is.

When you live in an apartment, the success on getting your purchases sometimes relies on the honest of your neighbors. I had $250 in casio watches left in the hallway outside my door. Fortunately no body stole the item.

Lastly, my purchased was from a website where you can buy and sell items. I met the buyer, a young woman, near a drug store in Calgary, and picked up a decent Roland keyboard for $280. She cut me a deal because there was no AC adapter. No worries.

The temptation to spend is very high when you're browsing Amazon. I remember the old days when you had to buy things in person, usually, at a music store. I'm not saying Amazon is completely bad. For this moment in time, and for me, it didn't work out. But if other people can use them, wonderful.

Best of luck.
