Calgary Stampede

 

I am a huge fan of the Calgary Stampede and went on a Monday to view the grounds. I sampled a few bits of food here and there, and toured the AG buildings. 

The crowds were thick, but not unmanageable. The food was good - of course, you pay a premium for fair food. The animals on display were just incredible. I really liked the RCMP's horses - they were so well cared for and manicured.

The rides are expensive if you don't purchase a day pass. I never did. The hot weather was starting to get to me on hour 4. 

It's sad that Stampede is only 2 weeks of every year. I'll go again next year, and really enjoyed walking through the commercial vendor area with the air conditioning. Such a treat.
